UPDATE: Police have released more details on a Church Point shooting.
On July 7, 2025, at 7:50 pm, the Church Point Police Department was contacted about a gunshot victim at a local hospital, according to a spokesperson for the Department. The shooting happened on North Wilson Street. The victim, 38-year-old Jiveston Antonio Hebert, was pronounced dead from a single gunshot wound to his upper chest area.
Police say warrants have been issued for the suspect, 26-year-old Calvin Lawrence Scott, of Church Point. Anyone with information on Scott is asked to contact the Church Point Police Department at 337-684-5455 or your local law enforcement agency.

Church Point Police are investigating a Monday night shooting that left one person dead.
Police were called to the Acadia St. Landry Hospital just before 8 p.m. Monday, where a person had died of a gunshot wound.
Officers learned that the shooting happened in the 600 block of North Wilson Street.
As of Tuesday morning, investigators had a person of interest identified as the possible shooter, and they were following leads.
