LAFAYETTE (KATC) Louisiana produced 16 runs in a 16-6 win over Georgia State Saturday night.

Rain pushed the start time back nearly three hours, but in Louisiana’s first at bat Hyden Cantrelle showed the delayed start was not going to slow the offense.

Louisiana tallied 17 hits and hit three home runs in the win. Hunter Kasals and Brennan Breaux knocked ones out of the park as well.

The Cajuns’ 16 runs ties a season high.

Starting pitcher Brandon Young tossed six, near-perfect, innings. He allowed just one hit, a solo home run in the second while striking out 10.

Louisiana will play its final home game of the season Sunday with a start time of 11 a.m.
