LAFAYETTE (KATC) Former Maryland walk-on Brayden Hawkins will transfer the Louisiana.

The 6-foot-3-inch pocket-passer made it official Wednesday on Twitter. Hawkins is from High Point, NC, and is committed to his fourth different team in 15-months.

As a high school senior, Hawkins committed to UTEP but left the program before he arrived on campus to walk-on at Maryland. After his freshman year he left to join Northwest Mississippi Community College with plans to play this season. But after attending the Cajuns’ spring game he announced he’d transfer to Louisiana where he could compete for the starting job this fall. It’s uncertain whether or not he’ll be eligible to play per the NCAA’s transfer rules.

Currently Louisiana now has seven quarterbacks on their roster, including presumed starter Levi Lewis who  threw for nearly 600 yards and 7 touchdowns last season.
