Cajuns score 20-runs in double-header sweep over Arkansas State

LAFAYETTE (KATC) — Louisiana’s bats combined for 21 hits and 20 runs in a pair of wins (14-5, 6-1) over Arkansas State Saturday.

The Cajuns connected for four home runs in game one, two came off the bat of Handsome Monica. The catcher hit 4-7, hitting two home runs while driving in three RBI on Saturday.

On the mound, the Brandon Young tossed a gem in the finale. The junior struck out 13, allowed just four hits as he picked up his first win of 2019.

Louisiana took two of three from the Sun Belt West leading Red Wolves and moves to 17-17 and 6-6 in conference play on the season.

Louisiana will plays Louisiana Tech and McNeese in mid-week games this week.
