Cajuns split double-header in Norman Friday

GAME 1| 23. Oregon State vs. 11. Louisiana
NORMAN, Okla. (Press Release)  – 11th-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball rode the momentum of a quick start in capturing an 8-0 (5 inn.) victory over No. 23 Oregon State in the opening game of the Oklahoma Courtyard Marriott Tournament.

Louisiana (15-2) ripped three doubles in the first inning which led to three runs and never looked back in coasting to the run-rule triumph over the Beavers (12-3).

The contest marked the first of four with Top 25 ranked foes over the weekend for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Louisiana moved to 2-1 against ranked foes in 2019.

GAME 2| 11. Louisiana vs. 4. Oklahoma
NORMAN, Okla. (Press Release) – No. 4 Oklahoma claimed the first matchup with No. 11 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball at the OU Courtyard Marriott Tournament posting a 9-1 (5 inn.) win on a frigid Friday evening at Marita Hynes Field.

The homestanding Sooners (15-2) scored multiple runs in each of their first three at bats, building a 7-1 advantage, to gain separation from the Ragin’ Cajuns (15-3).

The result gave Louisiana a split on the opening day of the OU Courtyard Marriott Tournament.

Earlier in the day the Ragin’ Cajuns took an 8-0 (5 inn.) decision over No. 23 Oregon State in the opening game of the tournament behind five shutout innings from Summer Ellyson and a four-RBI effort from Julie Rawls.
