The Ragin’ Cajun community is remembering their assistant softball coach who died in a five-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

This evening, students, family, friends and fans gathered at the university’s Lamson Park for a balloon release and prayer service in memory of Geri Ann Glasco.

Glasco is also the daughter of Cajuns head softball coach Gerry Glasco.

Ahead of the memorial service, mourners decorated the gates of Lamson Park with balloons, pictures, and notes.

Glasco is from Marion, Illinois, and played softball for the University of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29 at 11 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. the day prior.

Memorial donations may be made to Natasha Watley Foundation-Glasco Family Fund in memory of their daughter. This fund will be used to help and inspire young female coaches entering into the softball community.
