Henry gets start for LSU in game one

BATON ROUGE (KATC) – LSU freshman Cole Henry will draw the start in game one of the Baton Rouge Super Regional Saturday against Florida State.

Henry became one of LSU’s top starters before missing a month with elbow soreness.

He pitched five scoreless innings in last weekend’s regional game against Southern Miss.

Paul Mainieri announced his starting rotation Thursday, Landon Marceaux will pitch Sunday in game two, Eric Walker will start Monday, if needed.

“I think we’ve pitched extremely well over the last portion of the season,” said Mainieri. “I expect that we will continue to pitch that way against a really good hitting team, Florida State. Georgia’s got a great pitching staff and look what they did to Georgia’s staff. So, it’s going to be a tremendous challenge this weekend but I think AD (Alan Dunn) has these guys primed and ready.”

Game 1 | Saturday at 2:00 p.m. – ESPN
Game 2 | Sunday at 5:00 p.m. – ESPN2
Game 3 | Monday at 7:30 p.m. – ESPN2 (If necessary)
