BATON ROUGE (KATC) Home-sweet home, LSU advances to its 14th NCAA Super Regional for the 14th time.
Zach Watson and Saul Garza’s key 7th inning hits propelled LSU to a 6-4 victory in the Baton Rouge regional championship against Southern Miss.
Devin Fontenot closed out the game with a 5-out save where he struck out two.
In the win, Antoine Duplantis broke the team’s hits record picking up numbers 353 and 354. The record was held by Eddy Furniss who played for the Tigers in the mid-late 1990s.
