Experts are giving advice on how you can shop smart during this pandemic.

Whether it's stocking up at the grocery store or filling up your cart online, consumers have had to watch what they're spending to make ends meet.

Saving and repurposing what you have, especially during these tough times, is very important.

Shopping experts suggest a 5-tier approach.

First, look around your home. Next, find money which you already have. Third, look for cashback opportunities. Then, invest in bigger items if you can. Support small businesses and plan ahead.

You can also find refurbished electronics for an inexpensive upgrade on certain websites.

"Suprisingly, Americans have 43 billion of unused tech items around their houses. And so it's a good time while you're in the frame of mind. Look around your home and see what you can sale and make some cash from it. I would recommend checking out slickdeals.net," said Trae Bodge, a smart shopping expert with truetrae.com. "They have a feature called their deal alert and what you can do is enter the name of the item you want and you will be alerted when that deal goes on sale."
