LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted its Fifth Annual Pink Pizzazz Jazz & Zydeco Brunch at UL today.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is an international service organization that was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. Locally, the Eta Chi Omega Chapter serves the Acadiana community.
Today's event is a fundraiser for the group to provide scholarships to area students and other community service projects, such as Eta Chi Omega's #CAPSM - College Admissions Process. This is when members collaborate with local high school students to provide a hands on approach to help students navigate the college admissions process, complete applications and search for the best schools and scholarship packages.
