With the change in how restaurants provide service to their customers, one café in Lafayette is getting ready.

Café 329 on Dulles Drive has set up their outdoor patio to allow for seating without table service. Tables have been spaced out and tape added to keep in compliance with social distancing orders.

Peter Martin, the owner of Café 329 says that he is prepared for the changes if customers would like to dine outside. The deck has also been pressure washed in advance of the changes in dining.

Customers will pick up food in the drive thru.

General Manager Todd Courville says safety is a high priority.

"We're happy to see our customers back, and we're happy to see them safe. Everyone is in business to make money, but the most important thing is we have to keep our employees and customers safe. In the long run, that's what it's all about, the safety of our customers and our employees."

Charley G's in Lafayette is also preparing to open patio service. KATC's Scott Brazda was there to explain how restaurants are preparing to safely reopen.

The Governor's stay at home order extension goes into effect until May 15.
