LAFAYETTE, La. - The Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women is accepting nominations for the 25th Annual Women of Excellence Awards. The event honors women who have accomplished the goal of improving the opportunities and lives of women and their families and therefore had a positive impact on our community.
The three categories are: Business/Industry/Professional (including health care, privately owned businesses and corporations), Nonprofit (including religious affiliations, community organizations, volunteer work and civic participation) and Public Service (including education, government and law enforcement) and the Be Brave Award (including a brave woman who has overcome innumerable challenges, injustices and has broken through barriers to help change her community). The ceremony honors those women in these categories that have made a significant impact upon the lives of our citizens.
All nominations must be received by Friday, August 30, 2019 at 5:00 pm.

Nominations can be submitted by mail to Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women P.O. Box 52082, Lafayette, Louisiana 70505 or by Fax to (337) 291-5459. Former nominees are eligible, former winners are prohibited from being nominated again.
Nominations are encouraged from any individual within the eight parishes of Acadiana.
Winners will be recognized during the Women of Excellence Awards Ceremony & Luncheon on Friday, October 4, 2019, at the City Club River Ranch.
