Winter is maintaining a pretty hard grasp on Acadiana with another possibility of some morning winter precipitation early Wednesday.

The good news is that any sleet that Acadiana receives likely won't accumulate, accumulating ice is more probable in central and north Louisiana, so our local roads will stay fine.

It will be interesting seeing where the freezing line sets up as the precipitation gets started as it will dictate many of the impacts, as of Wednesday morning the freezing line looks to be northern Acadiana.

Keep an eye on roads north of Highway 190 to monitor for travel impacts but most of the roads in Acadiana should be drive able.

When the heaviest showers arrive the temperatures should be above freezing meaning a very cold rain through the rest of the day, along with a couple strong thunderstorms in the evening.

Winds will be strong through the day which means another day with a wind chill sitting in the 20s as a north wind will be blowing around 15-20 mph with gusts coming in a little stronger.

Thursday will be another very cold and gray day with temperatures down in the low 40s and lows dropping back down into the 20s as the skies clear on Friday.
