After a chilly stretch of days here in Acadiana there's finally a mild, sunny afternoon as we start to turn our sights toward the weekend.

Plenty of sunshine is expected across Acadiana Thursday which will help temperatures push into the upper 60s by the end of the day, though this warm up will be short lived.

Helping to bring the warm conditions on Thursday will be strong winds blowing out of the south which will sit between 15-20 mph with gusts reaching the 25-30 mph range through the afternoon.

A front is going to push through the area late Thursday night and usher in another round of cold air that is going to move into the area and stick around through the weekend.

While there will be plenty of sunshine over the next several days temperatures are going to return to near freezing by early Sunday morning and we won't see a return to the 60s until next work week.
