After several hot, humid, but otherwise quiet summer days a front will be opening the door for a fairly wet stretch of days that will last all the way into next week.
Friday morning is going to be a little more of the same, hot and humid, but by the late morning we may end up with a few isolated showers that will eventually spread by the afternoon.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be spreading out by the late afternoon and early evening, producing at times locally heavy downpours, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.
This pattern of on again, off again showers will continue through Independence Day, so when planning your outdoor activities be sure to keep an eye on the radar.
The front will stay stalled through the middle of next week and as a result the door for showers will remain open, so a wet round of days are coming up across the region.
