Showers and storms will be with us to start the week, but with Mardi Gras right around the corner the good news is that this will be a quick round of rain and clearing up in time for the holiday.

A cold front is making its way across the area providing showers for south Louisiana, with the wet weather moving in a little after lunch time on Monday.

The chance will be there for a couple of thunderstorms but nothing that is going to be severe.

All of the showers should be coming to an end by the time the Queen's Parade rolls, so while the parade grounds will be soggy there won't be any active rainfall.

The Mardi Gras forecast isn't looking too bad with a lot of clouds hanging around, but active rainfall won't be an issue.

Temperatures will be in the upper 60s Tuesday afternoon with patchy sunshine be the later parts of the afternoon.

The rest of the work week looks beautiful with cool, sunny days.
