In the latest effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19, Walmart will begin requiring associates to wear a mask or other face covering while at work.
The store's corporate offices made the announcement on Friday. The new rule includes stores, clubs, distribution and fulfillment centers, and corporate offices. The store is also encouraging customers to wear face coverings when shopping.
The CDC is now recommending wearing face masks or coverings in public settings, including grocery stores.
"We believe it is simply in everyone's best interest to use masks or face coverings to curb the spread of this disease," reads Walmart's statement.
Employees will be required to wear a face covering starting on Monday.
