With Governor Edwards' stay at home order extension into May, there are some changes to how businesses will operate.

The Vermilion Economic Development Alliance says that with the extension came confusion for many business owners and the public about what would be open and what must remain closed.

To help with the confusion, VEDA made a chart showing what essential businesses would be open, what businesses would be open with restrictions and what businesses must remain closed.

See chart below:

The order has changed how restaurants can operate dining services if they have outdoor eating space. Those taking out food do have the option to dine in an outdoor setting if available but must keep social distancing measures.

The order is in place until May 15, 2020. The governor signed the new order on Thursday April 30 and will give an update on May 11.
