An Abbeville sorority fed residents in need on Saturday.
The Masons and Eastern Star Sorority prepared a five-course meal for community members at 1002 Martin Luther King Drive.
The distribution began at 11:30 a.m. and continued until supplies ran out.
Members of the sorority say the event was at attempt at creating unity in their community.
"It's just heartwarming, and it's important. In a time like this, we need to come together, so we're showing unity. It's all about unity. Together we stand, divided we fall," said Helen Durieux.
