The Vermilion Parish School Board President has called for a special board meeting on the first Monday in January.
On the agenda is a single item, appointing an interim superintendent for Vermilion Parish schools. The special meeting is being called after the board came to an agreement with current superintendent Jerome Puyau earlier this month.
The agreement terms included the dismissal of all litigation between the board and Puyau's resignation which is effective December 31, 2019. To read more on that agreement, click here.
The VPSB also has a new president who will assume the position in 2020, current Vice President Kibbie Pillette.
