Shreveport homicide suspect arrested in Abbeville

On Monday, August 26, detectives were notified that a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Shreveport was seen in Abbeville.

A check of the National Crime Information Center confirmed that the person, identified as Terrance Felix A.K.A. "Zap," was wanted for 2nd degree murder.

The Abbeville Police Department contacted the U.S. Marshal's service who confirmed they were actively looking for Felix.

At a residence in Abbeville, officers came into contact with Tavian Felix who was identified as the brother of Terrance Felix. Tavian was allegedly found to be in possession of stolen firearm and was arrested.

While on scene, officers located Terrance Felix about a half a block away from the residence riding an electric scooter. He was apprehended and taken into custody.

Both men were booked and transported to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center. Terrance will face extradition to Shreveport for the 2nd degree murder warrant.

Tavian Felix was booked on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm-Free Zone and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Metro Narcotics Task Force assisted in the arrest.
