Services will be Saturday for Kaplan City Council member John Carbaugh, who died this week.
Mayor Mike Kloesel said in a Facebook post that Carbaugh was a true public servant.
"John was a dedicated servant to his district and to his community. He served the city proudly and enthusiastically in everything that he did. He was proud of his teaching career and satisfied in knowing that he made a difference in so many young lives," the mayor wrote. "John never said no when asked to take on a project or lead a committee. John was retired so he had time to visit city hall often and I will miss his visits and our talks about everything from music to politics and even the weather. John absolutely loved Kaplan and the people in it."
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday August 29th at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home on Friday August 28th from 2:00 - 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be observed on Saturday August 29th from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
