Several schools in Vermilion Parish have new principals, and more are on the horizon.
Officials are looking for a principal for Abbeville High and Kaplan Elementary after some retirements and transfers.
At Abbeville High, Janet Guerrini is leaving the principal post to work in another parish. The school system is in the midst of searching for a new principal for that school, Superintendent Brad Prudhomme said.
Dana Primeaux is moving from the principal post at J.H. Williams Middle School to take the helm of Erath Middle School, where Principal Wendy Stoute is retiring, he said.
JHW Assistant Principal Diane Comeaux has been promoted to principal at that school, Prudhomme said.
Kaplan High's principal Lyndell Theriot retired several months ago, and recently the interim principal, Patricia Thibodeaux, was permanently promoted to that post, he said.
Dozier Elementary's prinicipal Karla Langlinais also is retiring, and this week Kaplan Elementary Principal Andre Ford was transferred to take over that school.
Prudhomme says he's going to fill all his principal spots first, and then will look to fill the vacant assistant principal positions.
