A long time clerk for the Village of Maurice has died due to complications of COVID-19.
Mayor Wayne Theriot announced on Monday, that Judy Broussard passed away from the disease on Sunday, August 16.
"Ms. Judy was a long time clerk for the Village and a valued member of our family," Theriot said." Your prayers are asked for her family during these trying times."
Maurice City Hall was closed temporarily on July 24 due to a possible COVID-19 exposure. That closure was extended until August 5.
Details on funeral arrangements were not available.
