KAPLAN, La. — Kaplan Mayor Mike Kloesel announced that the Krewe Chic-A-La-Pie has officially canceled its Mardi Gras parade for this year.
Kloesel made the announcement in a social media post where he said that the krewe was also devastated at the barn that houses many of the parade floats by Hurricane Delta.
"The barn suffered numerous amounts of damage and they are trying to raise money to make the necessary repairs," said Kloesel. "They're needing to raise in excess of $5,000, so if you can help it would be greatly appreciated to help ensure this vital organization remains as a part of our community."
He added that the krewe will also be having a live auction on Mardi Gras Day from B's Wild Wings where they will auction off numerous items to help raise money for the repairs.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the krewe raise funds.
