KAPLAN. La. - Junk and abandoned vehicles are no longer welcome within the city limits of Kaplan.
Mayor Mike Kloesel says the city is making a change to its current ordinance, by adapting to the state ordinance. He says this will make it easier to regulate the ordinance.
The city will send out notices to the owners of the abandoned cars and trucks.
The first notice will set a time frame for the owner to have the vehicle removed. If the issue has not been resolved within the set time period a second notice will be issued and the owner could face a fine.
If you have an abandoned vehicle and need help getting it removed, you can make arrangements through the city by calling (337) 643-8602.
Lawn mowers and ATV's are also included in the ordinance.
