Justice for Unsolved Murder Victims/Missing Person Project to hold meeting Saturday

The Justice for Unsolved Murder Victims/Missing Person Project will hold a meeting for families on Saturday in Abbeville.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Vermilion Parish Library in Abbeville. The library is located at 405 E. Saint Victor St.

Family members and friends will gather to raise awareness of unsolved murders in their community. Guest speakers will be there to help educate the victims' families.

Guest speaker Cataleen Theriot with VOICE will give a presentation of working closely with the legislature by coordinating and reviewing new and changing legislation affecting victims' rights. Mrs. Theriot will go over victims' rights laws once a defendant is arrested for a crime.

Guest speaker Don Landry, a Lafayette attorney and former Assistant District Attorney, will give a presentation on court procedures once a defendant is arrested for a crime.

Guest speaker Rosalind Bobb with Life Grief Support Ministry for Victims will give opening and closing prayers and will give testimony on helping grieving mothers.
