A peaceful march was held in Abbeville on Saturday.

St. Mary Magdalen Parish, in collaboration with faith leaders in Vermilion Parish, the Sheriff's Department, and the Abbeville Police Department along with members of the community participated in the peace march from the steps of Pleasant Green Baptist Church on MLK Blvd and ended at Christian Service Center located at 701 Chevis.

It was not a protest march, but rather a statement of solidarity and unity for the Abbeville community, struggling with violence and crime, according to event organizers.

"We are marching for change, for more love in this world, for all the surrounding communities, and for our country," said minister Marcelite Hopkins of today's march. "Our nation needs to love."

After there was several testimonies and worship music followed by lunch.
