A vigil was held Tuesday in Abbeville to remember the life of Brandon Johnson.

Family and friends gathered on the corner of Dutel Street and Maude Avenue, including Brandon's mother, Lenora Johnson.

Johnson buried her son Eric in September of last year. Now, just a few months later, she's facing the loss of another son, Brandon, to gun violence.

The Abbeville community is not only coming together physically to honor Brandon's life, they are doing so through monetary donations as well.

As Brandon's loved ones mourn his loss, his mother is looking for justice and answers. She's asking Abbeville residents to speak up about crimes.

"People can see things and won't open their mouths, they won't talk," she told KATC this weekend. The vigil, she says, is a way to bring the community together to stop violence.

"It needs to stop because my son was murdered and left there on the corner, just left there," she said. "It needs to stop."

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Johnson. It can be found here.
