Abbeville Police arrested a local man during an argument yesterday, and turned up a stolen gun.

Police were called to the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman said, because two men were fighting.

As they were arguing, a woman who was walking in the area went toward them to see what the noise was about, and one of the men pulled a gun from his shorts and pointed it at her, police say.

The man, identified as Kameron John Levine of Abbeville, was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm. Police checked the serial number on the gun he had, a Glock 19 handgun, and discovered it had been reported stolen to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office.

Levine was booked with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
