Officers in Vermilion Parish were notified of a bomb threat at Rene Rost Middle School on Tuesday.
The Kaplan Police Department and Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office investigated the threat which they believe was made by a student.
Officials say that bomb searching K9s were deployed and all children were evacuated to a safe location.
The buildings were searched and cleared of any threats.
An investigation into the threat is ongoing and charges will be filed if the threat is found to be valid.
