Quartermaster 2nd Class Katlon Broussard is serving in the Straits of Malacca.
Broussard, from Abbeville, maintains the ship’s deck log on the bridge of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
Nimitz is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and is deployed conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
