ABBEVILLE, La. - The Abbeville Police Department is participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, which runs from Thursday - Monday.

During the holiday weekend, there will be an increased enforcement on the streets with zero tolerance for those who drive impaired.

Officers will have designated D.W.I. patrols, searching for impaired drivers, according to Lt. Jonathan Touchet, spokesperson for the department. Officers will also be looking out for other violations, such as moving violations and seatbelt usage.

Funding for the campaign is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
