An Abbeville man was booked on attempted first murder charges in connection with a November shooting that seriously injured one person.
The Abbeville Police Department says that 19-year-old Dejonn Mikel Chargois turned himself in on Wednesday, December 16.
A warrant was issued for Chargois following an investigation into the shooting on November 7.

An investigation concluded that a verbal altercation had taken place between the victim and suspect, later identified as Chargois, in the intersection of N. East and Nugier Street. Police say that during the altercation Chargois allegedly produced a firearm and fired it, striking the victim in the abdomen.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries. An arrest warrant was secured for Chargois on the charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities.
After turning himself in on Wednesday, Chargois was booked on those charges.
