An Abbeville man has been arrested for allegedly setting his brother's camper on fire.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office says that 55-year-old Warren Senegal was booked into the Vermilion Parish Jail on one count of Simple Arson.

According the the SFM, the fire happened in the early morning hours of July 10 in the 11000 block of Davie Road in Abbeville. The Abbeville Fire Department contacted the State Fire Marshal's Office to assist in determining the origin and cause of a camper fire.

Officials say it was later determined the fire was intentionally set.

Deputies learned that Warren Senegal owned the property but allowed his brother to place his camper on the property. Witness statements, according to the fire marshal's office, reported that Senegal had recently become angry with his brother and he had made alleged threats to burn the camper if it wasn't removed from his property.

Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Senegal's arrest. He was not taken into custody until Friday, July 19, due to a medical evaluation following the incident.
