Dairy Queen in Abbeville is closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, owners announced on Facebook this week.
Employees have continued to work diligently since closing the dining area to make sure staff is following cleaning and sanitation practices, the restaurant said.
The employee who tested positive was last at work five days ago, but owners say they decided to take the health and well-being of everyone seriously and close the restaurant temporarily.
During the closure, owners will be bringing in an outside company to deep clean and disinfect the store and then will do their own disinfecting.
The store will be closed until further notice; once both cleanings have been completed, the store will take steps to reopen.
