Two arrests have been made in a case involving several four-wheeler thefts along Hwy 758 in the Eunice area.

After speaking to witnesses and obtaining video surveillance from businesses and residences, the sheriff's office says detectives were able to identify several persons of interest.

22-year-old Trudareyian Andrus and 22-year-old Phillip Washington Jr., both of Opelousas, were arrested and booked on Friday June 5 each with seven counts of Felony theft.

Deputies say the two were arrested after investigators conducting surveillance observed one of the stolen four-wheelers on a property in Opelousas.

According to the department, a total of seven stolen ATVs, including three reported stolen from the Opelousas area, were recovered.

Deputies say Andrus and Washington have also been linked to at least two alleged ATV thefts in Opelousas.

An investigation is ongoing and the sheriff's office says more arrests are likely.
