Travel waivers available ahead of Tropical Storm Barry

Several major airlines are offering travel waivers ahead of the severe weather expected to hit this weekend as Tropical Storm Barry makes landfall.

Travel waivers allow passengers to alter their flight reservations without having to worry about paying for additional charges. However, details of travel waivers vary depending on each airline carrier.

United Airlines is offering travel waivers for its flights to and from airports along the Gulf Coast, including Lafayette and New Orleans. Effective dates are July 11 -14.

Southwest Airlines is offering waivers for Panama City Beach and Pensacola from July 9 - 13; New Orleans from July 9 - 13; and Corpus Christi and Houston from July 10 - 14.

Spirit Airlines is offering waivers for Houston and New Orleans for the travel dates of July 11 - 14. Their deadline to take advantage of the waiver is July 19.

Jet Blue Airlines is offering waivers for flights to and from New Orleans from July 10 - July 14.

Frontier Airlines is offering travel waivers for Houston, Jackson, Lafayette and New Orleans from July 10 - 14.

Delta Airlines is offering waivers for Gulfport, Jackson, Mobile, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans for July 12 - 14. The deadline to rebook is July 17.

American Airlines is offering waivers for several airports along the Gulf Coast, including Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans from July 11 - 14.

Alaska Airlines is offering waivers for flights to/from Houston for tickets purchased on/before July 10 for the travel dates of July 11 - 12, which will then translate to new travel dates for July 11 - 16.
