Soaking showers across the region through the first part of the day on Thursday making it a very soggy commute to work, although the showers have arrived slowly enough that roads have had a chance to drain.
The rain is part of a front that is making its way across Acadiana but before the cold air can arrive we'll see the temperatures get up right around 70 degrees Thursday afternoon.
Don't get fooled by the warm up though as the colder air will start to filter in overnight with lows dropping down to into the low 40s with winds picking up and coming in from the north.
While Thursday expected to be a gray damp day the first half of the weekend is looking very pleasant with temperatures getting up into the low 60s with plenty of sunshine and a fresh breeze.
Showers will return on Sunday as another burst of energy will move across the region sparking widespread showers and a few thunderstorms to wrap up the weekend.
