A Christmas event is planned for Friday to benefit victims of domestic abuse in the Acadiana area.

"A Thrill of Hope" is happening at the Arlington Historic Home in Franklin Friday from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Admission is just one new toy. There will be a cookie and cocoa bar and pictures with Santa.

The event will celebrate the Christmas spirit and benefit several non-profits, like Chez Hope and The Bridge Teen Challenge Center.

Organizers say they want everyone in attendance to feel hopeful.

"This is just a night to encourage them, to encourage the workers that are in that field, to allow them to experience hope that they can give back to those that they are going to help," Rebecca Silva, Arlington Wedding and Event Coordinator explained. "Really, just have a night of community."

Chez Hope serves St. Mary, Assumption, Iberia, and St. Martin parishes. Click here to learn more.
