To brighten the spirits of their residents, one Morgan City nursing home organized a "Wave Parade" that had friends and family sharing love from a safe distance.

On Thursday, April 16, residents at the Morgan City Health Care Center gathered outside their nursing home to watch friends and family drive by while shouting "I love you" and waving signs.

Cars lined up down Justa Street for a chance to brighten the days of the city's most vulnerable to COVID-19.

The Morgan City Health Care Center shared the video on Facebook and said that the Wave Parade was a success.

"The residents were overjoyed to see their families and everyone made them feel really special," the post reads.

Along with city residents, the Morgan City Police , Berwick Police , Morgan City Fire and St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Departments also participated.
