UPDATE: ALL roadways, overpasses, and bridges in St. Mary Parish are now open, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Wednesday morning, all bridges on US 90 in St. Mary Parish due to the formation of ice.

The closures, according to state police, involved LA 83 (Baldwin), LA 3211 (Franklin), LA 3215(Garden City), and LA 317(Centerville).

Traffic was allowed to exit and re-enter past the overpasses, state police say.

Hwy 90 was also closed this morning beginning at La 83 and extending to Calumet.

State Police says their call volume due to traffic incidents has increased in the St. Landry, Evangeline, and Acadia Parish areas.

Since 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, Troop I says it has responded to over 20 crashes, most due to ice on roadways.

With current weather conditions beginning to deteriorate due to a wintry mix of rain moving in, troopers say that all bridges are subject to freezing over.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution and avoid travel if possible.
