The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update on the project to rehabilitate the U.S. 90 Atchafalaya Bridge in St. Mary Parish.

The $11.9 million bridge preservation project involves cleaning, painting, and structural steel repairs.

Current activities include the contractor continuing blasting and prime coat operations in the upper section of the bridge. Crews are also continuing to install a fence platform for containment.

Work began in September 2019 and is estimated for completion in summer 2021. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
