Morgan City Police are working on two shootings they think are related.

One happened around 10 p.m. on August 17, and the other happened about 3 a.m. on August 18.

Two arrests have been made in the August 18 shooting, police say. It happened on Eleventh Street, and witnesses said two groups of people in two vehicles were shooting at each other. One of the vehicles involved was found on Brashear Avenue. The alleged driver, Bryant Harris, and the alleged owner, Maranda Hampton, were both arrested and booked with obstruction of justice - tampering with evidence, police say.

The other shooting, which happened on Fourth Street, has been tied to the Eleventh Street shooting by evidence, police say.

Chief James F. Blair and the Morgan City Police Department are seeking assistance from the public and urging anyone with information regarding these investigations to contact the Morgan City Police Department at 985-384-2310.
