St. Mary Parish voters will consider a sales tax to fund teacher and staff pay raises.
The parish school board voted last night to put that item on the March 20th ballot.
According to the Morgan City Daily Review the .45 percent sales tax would raise about $4 million a year.
This would be enough to give teachers a $3,000 annual raise, and non-certified staff would receive a $1,500 a year pay hike.
