St. Mary Parish President signs emergency declaration after second confirmed COVID-19 case

St. Mary Parish President David Hanagriff has announced the signing of an emergency declaration for the parish.

The declaration comes following the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Parish reported on Tuesday at 12:00 pm .

Hannagriff says the declaration will allow St. Mary Parish to receive the resources needed to continue to combat the situation.

"I am asking the citizens of St. Mary Parish to continue to adhere to the guidance set forth by our governor's Stay at Home order and to continue to practice social distancing and self-monitoring yourself and family for symptoms of COVID-19," he said.

Hannagriff is urging the public to stay calm and diligent in an effort to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the parish and state.

"We will get through this together," Hannagriff added.
