A St. Martinville woman has died of injuries she sustained in an ATV crash this weekend.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies say Lakeitha Hopes, 31, has died from injuries she sustained in the July 11 crash.
Deputies were called to Verdun Lane in Verdunville at about 8 p.m. Saturday. They found two injured women.
A Franklin woman was driving the ATV, and Hopes was the passenger. The ATV left the road for unknown reasons, hit a concrete culvert and flipped. Both women were ejected.
Both women were airlifted to a Lafayette hospital, where Hopes later died.
The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time and standard toxicology test results are pending.
The Louisiana State Police, Centerville Fire Department, and Acadian Ambulance responded to the scene to assist.
