The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for information from the public concerning a boat theft Thursday morning in Bayou Vista.

Sheriff Blaise Smith says the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, May 7.

Video shared by the department shows two possible suspects in a white single-cab pickup truck take a boat located on Hwy 182 in Bayou Vista.

In the video, the sheriff's office says a passenger exits the vehicle, lowers the bimini top and connects the boat to the truck before pulling away.

The boat is described as a 19 ft. x 5 ft. aluminum boat with the words “Big Daddy” in black on both sides and has a striped bimini top.

The motor is a Yamaha 150 hp 4 stroke.

The sheriff's office asks anyone with information on the theft to contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office at www.stmaryso.com.
