A rally for life is happening at the St. Mary Parish School Board central office.
The rally is to protest the recent decision to open schools in August.
Organizers plan to begin the rally at 4:30 p.m. and ask that students, teachers, and staff affected by the school boards decision join in.
The board is expected to return to the decision of a school start date on Thursday at a special meeting.
They will be reviewing and taking action regarding the 2020-2021 school calendar.
Several parishes have chosen to delay back to school dates. Both St. Landry Parish and Lafayette Parish boards voted this week to start after the Labor Day holiday.
