Police: Vehicle shot at Thursday evening in Franklin

Police in Franklin are investigating an incident where several unknown people fired shots at a vehicle on Thursday evening.

The Franklin Police Department says that they received a call of shots fire at around 5:49 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, on Morris Street near Franklin Junior High School. After an investigation it was learned that the shooting occurred on O'Neal Chube Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Officers say they arrived on scene and spoke with the driver of the vehicle who stated that the vehicle was shot at by several unknown men. The driver also stated that the passengers in the vehicle at the time of the shooting exited and fled the area on foot.

No one was injured.

The Franklin Police Department says an investigation is ongoing and are asking that if anyone has any information or was a witness to the incident, to please call the Franklin Police Department at (337) 828-1716. Callers may remain anonymous.
